Booking a boat charter in Cyprus is an exciting way to explore, but like any shared experience, certain etiquette helps ensure everyone has a great time. Whether you're a guest or host, these do’s and don’ts will guide your behavior onboard.
Do:
Arrive on time: Being late can shorten your trip or miss important safety briefings.
Listen to the captain: They’re responsible for your safety and know the area well.
Bring appropriate gear: Sunblock, swimwear, and any personal medication.
Clean up after yourself: Respect the vessel like it’s your own home.
Ask questions: Want to learn about navigation or marine life? Most crews love to share.
Don’t:
Ignore safety rules: These exist for a reason.
Overpack: Space is limited. Bring only what you need.
Get too rowdy: Music and fun are welcome—destruction and excessive intoxication are not.
Disrespect the sea: Don’t litter, harass wildlife, or anchor where it’s not allowed.
Tipping Etiquette
While not mandatory, tipping the crew 10-15% is customary if you enjoyed the service. It shows appreciation for their hard work and expertise.
By following a few simple rules, you'll ensure that your Cyprus boat charter is smooth, safe, and enjoyable for everyone involved.
